They fit very nicely - I'm usually a 7.5 and bought the 38. Since my foot is wide in front, the adjustable loop on top is great. Both of the "buckles" are actually Velcro, but pretty strong as long as you make sure they're stuck well.I bought the Dansko Coquette sandals as my first choice, but the heel was higher, the sole was harder, and the front was very tight around my foot. I had to return them, as cute as they were. These are *much* more comfortable and needed no breaking in time at all. I've worn these on a couple of hot days, walking around with a diaper bag (the glamorous life!) and they've exceeded my expectations. I love that I can loosen them up when my feel swell during a hot day. They also haven't left weird marks on my feet after a long day of wear.
