The quality of the materials and construction is great--it may never wear out.However, it is not without some issues. The card slots are a bit tight. Not to the point the cards won't fit in, but very tight. At least the cards won't slide out. The outside clear pocket, which I assume is for your drivers license or other photo ID is also very tight. Since you have to remove your license from your wallet for so many reasons, this is a PITA. The money clip is the worst thing. Because of it's placement, the tops of the bills protrude past the leather about 1/8". That seems like a detail someone shouldn't have missed in the design stage. Learn to travel light. I'd say the max is 8 cards in the interior slots, maybe two more in the exterior one. If you have a lot of cards for some reason, this may be a deal killer for you. This Columbia branded leather wallet was exactly what I was looking for. I bought this one and the other Columbia branded with fabric type in under the front sleeve. I prefer this one in all leather. I like that it is all leather, slim and holds cash with the money clip. The card pockets are a little tight, but really that is what you want at first because leather will stretch a bit after a while. I use the front pocket for business cards I pick up and/or discount cards and an ID card. I like the fact the backside also has an ID card for a drivers license...Most of these type wallets do not have this feature. This type of wallet is NOT for someone who carries a collection of credit cards - which BTW is not good for your financial health anyway. The money clip is tight so secures cash well. It also came in pretty nice packaging that would make it ideal for a gift.I have a thicker regular wallet that I use for more formal occasions or when I'm going out, but on a regular basis when I don't anticipate needing a lot of cash, or if I'm just going to the gym or something, I'd use this wallet. I have no problem using up all four card slots and the two slip slots. Cards fit in just right - not too tight, but tight enough so that they won't fall out. The only problem with it is that when you put money into the money clip, the top edge of the bill will protrude out of the wallet on the top. I don't normally use the money clip so it's not that much of a concern for me, but if this is going to be your main wallet with cash, that might be something to consider. Money doesn't stick out too much, but you can definitely see the top edge of bills with the wallet closed. |
