Went on a 8 hour trip in the rain and everything in it stayed perfectly dry. The tie downs are great also. You do not have to worry about keeping up with straps to keep the bag on. This is the only bag I found that said it was waterproof. The others I researched all said weather resistant, that worried me. No problems other than the straps flapping and hitting the roof which my husband fixed on our first stop. Once they were tied up securely, we didn't have that problem again. I was a bit nervous about the straps (they didn't appear to be very heavy duty to me) but my husband said they would be fine and they were. Didn't supplement them with any other type of straps.All in all, this is an excellent product for the price.
